The town of Bergerac - on the banks of the River Dordogne - is close by, as are Duras, Castillonnes, Sigoules and the likes of Domme, Rogue-Gageac, Beynac and Sarlat. The fascinating medieval bastide town of Issigeac offers excellent local facilities - three superb boulangeries, an epicerie and a number of casual and fine dining eateries. The popular Bastide of Eymet is also nearby, and has a weekly evening market where you can sample and buy local products or simply enjoy the atmosphere in one of the bars or restaurants.
Driving is a pleasure on wonderfully quiet country roads which wind through beautiful tree-lined valleys and sleepy villages. This is a fantastic area for cycling, rambling and bird watching. It is also an artist's paradise, with wonderful light and a 'potential' painting every time you turn around. For the more energetic among you, there is much opportunity for numerous outdoor activities such as go-karting, horse-riding, golf, tennis and canoeing ... to name but a few. Afterwards you can chill out with some shiatsu massage or a visit to a day spa.
The list of things to do is endless - you'll just have to come to experience it all for yourselves!!
